Ants and well, Aunts:)

Hello from Ant Hill Central, I mean Texas! We are loving the sunshine and our beautiful new home, but I must take a moment for a small rant. Tonight, while attempting to play with Max in our yard, I was bitten, stung (whatever these tiny evil creatures do?!) AGAIN!!!! Seriously....ENOUGH! I am praying that my foot doesn't swell up for the third time, but I have just looked down to see the familiar red puffiness, and I can feel the pressure slowly building. I know you are thinking...."bite me once, shame on you, bite me twice...," but I have truly made an effort to stay off the lawn with flip flops! These little devils were on our sidewalk and it's like my feet set off a beacon as soon as I step outside.

Unfortunately for them, they will be meeting their maker soon enough. It's now officially war, and an exterminator will be visiting as soon as I can find one! We have waited far too long to have a yard for Max, and plan to make sure he makes good use of it!

 

On another note, my Aunt Susan sent us a BEAUTIFUL bouquet of flowers and I wanted to share! I have never seen such an exotic arrangement before, complete with a copper wire in the vase!

These aren't great pictures, but extra points for whoever can tell me what this unusual looking flower is!
It almost looks like coral to me.

Thank you Aunt Susan and Uncle Tom for our lovely housewarming gift! We are enjoying them! Also, thank you to my dad for contributing to our lawn mower fund as a housewarming gift! 

At least I can see the enemy coming with a mowed lawn:)!
