July 4th, Trips to East TN, Amber's visit, Wedding

These will be out of order, but I had several things to catch up on. We went to J.R.'s former office parking garage to watch the fireworks for the forth of July. It was a pretty nice view from where we were.

J.R. recently switched his road king bike for a "soft tail duece" (I hope I got these names right). The only difference that I am concerned with is that this bike has a seat that is about 2 inches wide, versus the other that was actually very comfortable. When we went to the Harley dealership for an inspection on the bike, one of the employees drooled over this new bike so I assume it is pretty special. J.R. loves it and I guess that is all that matters:).

This is one of my favorite pictures of him and his "duece".

A few weekends later I went home to help my grandmother clean out her house for a yard sale. She moved out several months ago and my aunt and dad are now trying to sell it. It was bittersweet to go through some of the things in the house. I have a lot of nice memories there with her and my granddad.

A few weekends later, J.R. drove to Oak Ridge and we went out on the Haw Ridge bike trails. These were pretty challenging, so I left the camera in the car. J.R. always tells me that these trails in the east are nothing compared to those in the west around the Utah area. I am okay with this:)!

My dad took us to the shooting range over the weekend as well. I think J.R. may have impressed him with his accuracy:).

This past weekend we went to J.R.'s college roommate's wedding in Cranberry, PA. J.R. was one of the groomsmen so we spent quite a bit of time with them. It was a beautiful day for the wedding, and Jeff and Triena both looked so happy and cute. The bride did most of the planning and decorations herself, and it all went really well.

There were boxes that each contained a monarch butterfly, and we released them at the reception. My dad would have felt right at home at the country club golf course where it was held. It was a beautiful location and there were golfers all over the greens.

Back up to a few weekends before this, and Amber (my best friend for those who don't know her) came to visit me with her cousin, Delana. Julie and I took them to downtown Nashville to show them around, and I was finally able to see the walking bridge at nightime.

During the same weekend that J.R. traveled to Oak Ridge, I went over to my mom's house to see her new kittens. Cocoa, her cat of almost 16 years, had to be put to sleep a few months ago. Seeing how devastated she was, the vet's office thought of her the day that someone dropped off a box of kittens that they had found laying on the side of the road (how do people do that???!!!). My mom couldn't leave with just one, so she now has her hands full.
